SILENT SHOUT: A NEW NIGHT IN TOWN
by David on Sep.02, 2010, under News

There is a new night in town people….one you don’t want to miss! It’s called Silent Shout and the first installment goes down Friday September 10th, so mark your calendars. Silent Shout is a dark pop night that happens every second Friday at Teranga (159 Augusta Avenue) in Kensington Market. Each installment features two live local bands, followed by the Silent Shout DJs, Digits and DJ ARP 2600. The Indie Machine had a chance to talk to Digits aka Alt Altman about the evening. “We’re trying to build the night as supportive of up-and-coming local indie electronic artists, and the DJ portion of the evening will play a good amount of local stuff, something that seems to be lacking in Toronto.” I couldn’t agree more. The first installment will feature, Ghost Is Dancing side project, ‘Powers’ and ‘Dinosaur Dinosaur’. Head over to the Silent Shout Facebook page for more info.

The 4-piece is set to embark on a cross Canada tour in support of their debut LP, ‘Think About It’. The end of the month will mark the release of the album and the start of a tour which will see them play pretty much every major Canadian city along the way. Check out the incredibly catchy Saint Vinny, the fourth and possibly best track on the album. At just over two and a half minutes this song really packs a punch.
