iM Video Premiere: SNOW DAY STUDIOS [The Violet Sound Sessions] #1: THE FOLK – Rules Of Youth

January 22, 2013

Today at iM we’re pleased to present the premiere of THE VIOLET SOUND SESSIONS: a secret artist session video series that features a mix of live concert energy, acoustic session video intimacy, high-fidelity audio, and post-production animation in an effort to create a new music video viewing experience.

From producer SNOW DAY STUDIOS: “Named for [Russian painter and art theorist Wassily] Kandinsky’s 18th century experimental colour-tone operas that explored synesthesia through a blending of art and media, The Violet Sound Sessions are a merging of live performance, recorded music, music video, and interactive visualization.”

Video #1 features the fine folks of Toronto/Guelph pop-rock outfit THE FOLK – which you can check out in the embed below. Snow Day Studios likens the animation side of THE VIOLET SOUND SESSIONS to seminal Disney film Fantasia – so if you have any magic brooms in the room that are likely to cause any trouble once the music starts, best deal with them now.

Special thanks to sponsor venue 3030 Dundas West and Stone Hammer Brewery for their support in this new video series.
