iM Premiere: DELTA WILL – Transcendental Visits
In the tradition of great persona-projects of the past (Ziggie Stardust being the big one that springs to mind) DELTA WILL is the alter-ego of PARKS & REC guitarist/vocalist Charles Tilden – or rather, DELTA WILL is an alien visitor who inhabits Tilden’s body to create musical musings on his earth-side observations of mankind.
Shifting from crisp clean guitar work to muffled lead riffs alongside minimalist looping percussion bits, DELTA WILL’s debut EP Transcendental Visits can at times skew between the lighter blues rock ventures of Eric Clapton’s CREAM/DEREK & THE DOMINOES work and the light-and-airy mid-toned guitar structures of Buckingham/Nicks-era FLEETWOOD MAC.
Says DELTA WILL via release: “Since my first visit to Earth, I have been fascinated with this planet and its people. Transcendental Visits is my first attempt to record my thoughts about life here on Earth. How time seems to flow rapidly and then slowly. How people lust and fall in, then out of love. Everyone’s constant search for meaning. The strong gravitational force that doesn’t allow people to bounce about, and the way everything is wrapped in plastic.”
DELTA WILL is set to release his first official video at Cinecyle on October 5th; until then check out the stream of Transcendental Visits in its entirety below!
PS.: DELTA WILL adds “If you see that Charles Tilden fellow around, please do not tell him I have been borrowing his body.” Just an observation, but in this internet day-and-age we doubt Tilden’s going to stay in the dark for long.
