Drawing comparisons ranging from SPOON and THE STROKES to proverbial UK punk rockers THE CLASH, Hamilton ON dirty rock-and-roll quartet REDANDA take the spot for iM August 2012 Featured Artist.

The gritty garage four-piece of Chris, Curtis, Connor, and Corey, are getting set for the release of their third EP (which may or may not be called Carl Regains Freedom based on banter between the band and their label Wolfshirt Records around the internetz), and we’ll be giving you ample coverage of both Hamilton hometown and Toronto release shows since we’ll be along for the ride.

While their debut EP Expanda has a certain lo-fi charm about it, their fall 2011 EP Carl really lets the band shine with some slick production work and a good handful of thudding bass riffs to anchor frontman Corey Wright’s Julian Casablancas-evoking vocals.

Need further convincing that this is a band you need to get familiar with? Check out their first two EPs, Expanda and Carl in the streams below… don’t say we didn’t warn you that they’re a lot of fun though.
