Video: GOODNIGHT, SUNRISE – Love Fortress #9
Toronto hard rockers GOODNIGHT, SUNRISE have been busy for some time now, putting out EPs and generally shaking things up; just today they’ve just released a video for Love Fortress #9, the lead track from their 2011 (free) EP, Fragments.
Rather than go for heavy-handed production, the band chose to make it a DIY affair that matches their “git ‘er done” aesthetic. Traveling through Toronto on Canada Day/Pride weekend in July, GOODNIGHT, SUNRISE has strangers singing along to Love Fortress #9 while listening on headphones; the concept is similar to CAKE’s Short Skirt/Long Jacket, if you’ve seen it.
The band threw a big video release party last night (Thursday) to celebrate, and though we couldn’t make it, by all accounts it was a hard-drinkin’, rock and rollin’ time. If you want more of that in your life – and who doesn’t – check out GOODNIGHT, SUNRISE at their next show. Just don’t challenge them to a drinking contest – I’m pretty sure keyboard/vocalist Vanessa Vakharia can drink any guy under the table.
