New Release: ATOM & THE VOLUMES – S/T EP

July 18, 2012

Back in the spring we did a Band Watch article on Toronto indie rock jam band ATOM & THE VOLUMES, though at the time all they had were a few rough demos kicking around the internet.

We’re happy to report back that the comic book loving quartet recently released their debut self-titled EP and it’s currently making the rounds. We’re really feeling it: from the garage-rock tinged Lick Your Tears to the bluesy Boardwalk (which could be likened to an INCUBUS-lite) and the straight-up made-for-driving theme To The Beat – but check out the whole thing for yourself in the embed below and let us know what YOU think.

If you like what you hear, you’re in luck: if you head out the door in the next couple hours and make your way over to Clinton’s Tavern you’ll be able to catch them live in person thanks to our friends at Don’t Touch That Dialmore info can be found on the Facebook event HERE.

Borins has this really great tinge in his voice that comes out when he hits
the high notes – I think that’s what leads me to make the Incubus comparison since it’s kinda similar to Brandon Boyd’s voice in that regard.
