Band Watch: EV REE WUHN

We’ve done a lot of work with the members of Toronto-based ambient rockers DORA ALEXANDER over the past few years, so suffice to say we were feeling a little sombre back in the early fall last year when the group members announced they were going on indefinite hiatus to sort out their respective personal and musical situations.

An understandable scenario for sure, but still… we were feeling a little upset by the whole thing.

Luckily, the core of the band announced a reformation of sorts earlier today as EV REE WUHN – a much more electronic/ambient based project that harkens back to some earlier SIGUR ROS or mid-2000s RADIOHEAD material.

It’s much lighter on the effect-laden hooks and focuses more on the percussion/piano/synth fronts to invoke a gentler, instrumental-heavy dreamscape style – check out the first teaser track Control in the embed below… AND…. if you like what you hear you can DOWNLOAD IT FOR FREE on their website.

No word yet on official performance dates, but stay tuned – we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
