In the modern music environment, the argument can be made for the existence of reverb-addiction. For the afflicted out there, Toronto-based ODONIS ODONIS’ new video for their track “New World” will surely help fill your craving. Taken from their debut LP, Hollandaze, released back in November 2011, “New World” is a mesmerizing track with a hypnotic bassline layered with scrambled guitars and ethereal vocals.
Departing from the production style of their previous music videos by joining forces with director Cameron Tomsett (the previous two videos were directed by frontman Dean Tzenos), the video for “New World” follows an abstract theme centered around close-up shots of retro video games; the effect is quite chaotic and matches the intensity of the track.
ODONIS ODONIS are just finishing up a UK tour at the moment (they play The Great Escape this Friday with We Were Promised Jetpacks), but they’ll be returning to T.O. shortly. Catch them at The Steelworkers Hall on May 25th or at their NXNE showcase at Sneaks on June 15th.
