Upcoming Release: JOSHUA HYSLOP – Where The Mountain Meets The Valley

Back in March we highlighted a video from Abbotsford, BC-based indie-folk singer/songwriter JOSHUA HYSLOP, and now he’s getting set to drop his debut LP Where The Mountain Meets The Valley on July 3rd via Nettwerk Music Group.
After facing a near-death experience in India (which sounds like a fairly intense ordeal when you hear the details), HYSLOP wrote the first song off his upcoming album entitled “Do Not Let Me Go” – which you can check out in the embed below.
Via release: “I live in a valley surrounded by mountains,” Hyslop explains. “It’s beautiful. But it also became a metaphor for the highs and lows of my own life, and how dramatic they can be. In the last year, I’ve been close to death twice, I’ve lost 45 pounds, I’ve been very very low, the worst I’ve ever been. But, at the same time, I got signed to a record label and I got to travel the world; I saw things that I’d never get to see normally. So, it’s been an incredibly up year and an incredibly down year. And that’s really the dynamics of life.”
Nettwerk also recently put together a brief interview segment/acoustic performance video (below) to highlight the track.
