New Release: HOTKID – Courage To Fight EP

Following up a busy 2011 – with the release of their single Rip It Into Pieces, a spot on Steam Whistle’s UNSIGNED showcase series, several viral music videos, and a US tour in support of Canadian indie rock royalty SLOAN – Toronto garage-rock duo HOTKID are back with the Courage To Fight EP.
The first of several planned EP releases over the coming months ahead of their impending LP release in the fall, Courage To Fight was produced by Juno Award-winner Adam King and sees Shiloh Harrison & Rob Butcher III jacking up the vocal reverb to 11 and pushing things in a much more mature direction.
Opening track “Blind To It” definitely still shows the raw emotion off previous efforts, but tracks “One More (C’mon C’mon)” and the titular “Courage To Fight” strip things back a bit on the in-your-face distortion front to allow a glimpse into a more structured songwriting style that screams for you to sing along – and to rock your convulsing body ragged – check it out in the embed below.
No definitive dates yet on those future EP releases, but stay tuned… we’re expecting plenty of new surprises in 2012 from Toronto’s HOTKID.
