Tracks: OLD WORLD VULTURE – J.R. Flood

Yesterday we caught wind of a new track from Toronto post-rockers OLD WORLD VULTURE – the second preview for their upcoming as-yet-untitled 2012 debut LP following November’s “Trophy Lovers”.
“J.R. Flood” is named for a St. Catharines ON band that RUSH drummer Neil Peart played with in the early 1970s – before ultimately joining the soon-to-be Canadian legends in 1974. The track was recorded, mixed, and produced by Chris Hegge (FUCKED UP, MELIGROVE BAND) at Audiolab Recording Company in Toronto and mastered by Harris Newman (THE BESNARD LAKES, HANDSOME FURS) at Grey Market Mastering in Montreal.
Via the band’s blog: “Just when you thought we were getting all soft and shit with ‘Trophy Lovers’ we return with this tasty slab of goodness, a guitar-heavy bruiser that delivers like a punch straight to the gut”.
We couldn’t agree with this assement any more if we tried – plus it’s a FREE DOWNLOAD! Check out “J.R. Flood” in the embed below.
In other news, OLD WORLD VULTURE will be hitting the stage for Canadian Music Week on Thursday March 22nd at The El Mocambo (upstairs) alongside a sleugh of other great acts (details below).
