Upcoming Release: BEND SINISTER – On My Mind EP

Vancouver-based prog-tinged pop-rock quartet BEND SINISTER may count such diverse artists as Hall & Oates and Iron Maiden among their influences, but that hasn’t stopped them thus far from pouring that melange into a pan and cooking a deliciously awesome cake out of it.

Frontman Dan Moxon is known for his catchy keys-riffs, swirling vocals, and ridiculous live antics throughout the Canadian indie scene, and thankfully drum master Jason Dana and guitar-man Joseph Blood have more than enough chops to match.

There have been quite a few lineup changes in the group over the past few years, but with new bassist Matt Rhode now joining the roster BEND SINISTER have announced the release of their upcoming EP On My Mind on March 6th before making a quick jump out to Eastern Canada for a few shows in Ontario and Quebec and making the trek home on a Western Canada tour (see dates below).

Produced by long-time collaborator Shawn Cole (You Say Party!; Yukon Blonde) at FaderMaster and Mushroom studios in Vancouver, the five-song EP is an alleged teaser for “more great things to come”… whether that’s a third full-length or not is never really clear in the press release or the band’s online ruminations, but if that means there’s anything more like their 2005 debut Through The Broken City on the horizon I (Ryan) WILL find a way to take this intravenously for the rest of my life [hint: get that album now]

Check out the first track off the release “Give It A Rest” in the embed below. For more on BEND SINISTER check them out on their website HERE, or over on Facebook HERE.
