We Were Lovers is the moniker of Ash Lamothe and Elsa Gebremichael. They count The Cure, Blondie, Talking Heads, David Bowie, Tears For Fears, and Kraftwerk among their many influences. In October of last year the band released their debut EP and many people took note.

With that said, the duo is set to drop their debut long player in the spring of 2012. They’ve just released the lead single and we really like what we hear over at The iM – have a listen to We’ve Got It

– you can also download it for free!

In other news, the 2-piece is set to embark on a monster Canadian tour this fall with a stop here in Toronto on October 10th and 11th. For additional tour dates and more info, visit We Were Lovers over at their website.
