New Release: AIMES – Your Floor Is Now A Tree

Some trees become benches and chairs, some become components to a roof, or a wall, or even a floor; but this week, thanks to Alabama-born Brooklyn-based electronica DJ/producer Aman Ellis – under his moniker AIMES – Your Floor Is Now A Tree.

This amusingly-titled 11-track album was released this week on ModyWorks, and with a synth-pop/disco fusion that professes influences from late 70′s/early 80′s Manhattan disco and UK Bassline – and with a subtle new wave undertone that permeates throughout – we here at The iM were quickly won over. (This IS Ryan talking, so I might as well point out that I especially loved the fact that his song “Hard Notes & Loves Drugs” sounded like something from an old Sega Genesis game…… WIN!)

Check it out in the embed below and see what you think it sounds like – stay tuned for more electronica goodness from AIMES in the future over on his website.
